Seventeen Metallic Cream Review!

Hello Bumblebeas :-)

I received this in a Seventeen make up box gift set for Christmas and I never took notice of it until now. It is a nude metallic cream which is slightly shimmery that is completely versatile for your face. I personally like to use it on my eyelids.

It is a lovely creamy texture which applies well and blends lovely. I prefer to rub my finger in it and apply it to my eyelids rather than use a brush as it is just far easier.

The reason I like to use this on my eyelids is that I think it helps my eyes stand out and look brighter and is also a great substitute for when you don't have time to put on eyeshadow.

I overall cannot find a fault with this product and is totally long lasting. I use it every single day but you can hardly tell that!

PROS:

  • It is a nude colour
  • Easy to apply
  • Long lasting
  • Can be used in various different ways
  • Cheap
  • Slight shimmer
What do you think? Let me know!

Natural Collection Green Correction Stick Review!

Hello BumbleBeas!

Today I am reviewing the Natural Collection Green Correction Concealer Stick which I bought in Boots for the small amount of £1.99.

If you don't know what green concealers are, they are used to go underneath your foundation/concealer to counter out the redness. If you are someone who suffers from acne, redness or scarring like me then this is perfect for you. It is fantastic at reducing redness!

I have been using one of these for a year or two now but by another brand. It was super good but for some reason they discontinued it! Gutted, I needed to find another one fast and this is what I found.

The photo is of the third one of mine. It is a lighter green than my old one but it does reduce redness and I wouldn't live without it. However I find the stick very weak and each one I have used has snapped. In fact, this one is broken and I haven't even used it! However, it is still usable you just have to be careful with it.

Another problem I found with it is that if you are someone who uses it every day and over the majority of your face (like me!) then it won't last long. My first one lasted a month and a half whereas the old ones I used to use would last much longer. Despite this it is still cheap so I guess it doesn't make much difference to the bank.

But yes, it does work and does what it says on the label. I would recommend it. I am faithful to green corrector sticks and are the best weapon for fighting redness on your skin or the redness that comes with spots.

PROS:
  • Reduces redness
  • Easy to apply and blend
  • Doesn't show green through your foundation/concealer
  • Easy to use on acne
  • Cheap

CONS:

  • Breaks very easily
  • Quite a light green
  • The stick doesn't last very long

What do you think? Have you used it? How do you cover up redness? Let me know!

Real Techniques: Expert Face Brush Review!

Hello Bumblebeas!

I have been so excited to review this! This is the Expert Face Brush by Real Techniques (Pixiewoo)
It cost me £9.99 in Boots and it was 100% worth it!

I have only started using make up brushes very recently, but they were standard ones from make up gift sets. I had been looking at the Real Techniques ones for a while wondering if I should go for it and finally I bit the bullet and did it!

First of all, the brush looks fantastic! It is designed very nicely and I actually keep it on display rather than in a pot with the rest of my brushes as it looks way too nice to hide. It feels nice in the hands and it stands up really well by itself.

I use this brush to apply my foundation. I simply squirt a bit of foundation on the back of my hand, dip this brush in to it and apply away!

What is fantastic about this brush is that it is super easy to use and is AMAZING at blending! Not once have I got streaks through my make up or made myself orange.

Furthermore the brush feels great and is easy to clean with no hairs coming out of it.

It makes me like doing my make up a bit more and I find it absolutely fantastic. I am overall very glad I bought it and will definitely be investigating the rest of the collection. I have already recommended it to my sister and Mum!

PROS:
  • Easy to use
  • Looks fantastic!
  • Soft and sturdy brushes
  • Really good at blending
  • Doesn't leave streaks
  • Stands up by itself

CONS:
  • £9.99 can be a bit much to spend if you're not entirely sure you want it/will use it

10/10!

What do you think? Do you use any of the Real Techniques brushes? What do you like about them? Let me know!

Getting Organised #2: DIY Medication Storage

Hey BumbleBeas!
One area I needed to get organised with was with my medication. I am on constant medication and I have found that I sometimes lose them underneath all my other stuff! When I was tidying out the drawer I kept all my medication in, I found 7 MONTHS WORTH OF MEDICATION! I thought I only had 2 months left! That just proves how disorganised I am.

So I realised I needed to store and look after my medication better. I was sat there for a long while wondering what I could do and what my medication could fit in. But then I realised: I already know my medication fits in the boxes it comes in!

So my first step was to collect all my medication that I didn't realise I had together and got rid of all the packaging of them apart from one.

I then decided that considering I will be always be using it I may as well make the storage funky! I grabbed some left over wrapping paper and glued it around the box to make it look nicer.

Next, I wrote 'Medication' on a white square and stuck it on the front. Just to look nicer I grabbed a glittery nail varnish and painted it around the sign.

Finally I put all my medication in it and that was that!

Since doing this I have found it much easier to keep track of my medication and keep it in one place without unnecessary packaging. Furthermore the way I made it 'pretty' really just adds to its appearance rather than just having a boring looking storage holder with complicated medical terms on it.

So what do you think? Let me know! Please check out my first post and others coming up by the 'Getting Organised' tag.

Boots Haul!

Hey BumbleBeas!

The other day I decided to treat myself to some new stuff from Boots. You've got to treat yourself once in a while, right?

  1. Real Techniques- Expert Face Brush I have been wanting one of these brushes for a long while! I finally bit the bullet and chose to get the 'expert face' one for my foundation. I love it!
  2. Collection- Lasting Perfection Foundation I have been using the concealer for years and I never realises there was a foundation until recently. I never wear foundation so this was a step up for me!
  3. Collection- Lasting Perfection Concealer I have been using this concealer religiously for years and it is the best concealer ever. However, they recently altered the name, shades and packaging and this is the first time I have bought the new edition!
  4. Natural Collection- Green Correction Stick This is the second time I have bought this as my first one ran out. I used to use the most perfect green corrector stick from No 7/17 but it got discontinued so I had to find a new one!
  5. L'oreal- Super Liner Gelmatic L'oreal recently either discontinued my usual eyeliner which I had been using every day for years or Boots just don't sell it any longer. Either way I had to find a new eyeliner and this is what I found!
A review for ALL of these products will be coming soon, so look out for those!
Have you used any of these or want any of it? What do you think of them? Let me know!

Polka Dot Nail Art with a Paintbrush!

Hey BumbleBeas!

This is a nail design I did about a month or two ago.

I painted my nails red and let them fully dry.

For the dots I used a paintbrush which I keep for nail art. I used the end of the paintbrush dipped in white nail polish and dotted them on. Using a paintbrush for dots is a really good idea as you can get various sized ones that do a near perfect circle!

What do you think?

I've fallen in love...with boots!

Hey BumbleBeas!

Sadly, I have come down with a stomach bug. But being bedridden also means online surfing!

Although my Mum reckons I need to stop buying boots and buy some lightweight shoes for the warmer upcoming months, anyone who knows me knows I LOVE WEARING BIKER/MILITARY BOOTS pretty much all year round. I am a self-confessed boot lover!

So when I found these...well I cannot resist.

These are called the New Look Chunky Metal Bar Biker Boots sold on ASOS for a (worth it!) £39.99. That can be quite steep for me for shoes but I love these so much. I have completely fallen for how chunky they are, the heel, how high up the ankle they go and the big metal belt over it. My shoes always have to make a statement.

I don't know when I will be able to buy these but when I have more than enough money (which isn't right now!) I will. Perhaps I will ask for them for my upcoming birthday or with my birthday money. Either way I know I have to have them.

What do you think of them? Let me know!

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer Review!

Hello BumbleBeas!

I have had this primer for about two months now and I kept on meaning to make a review but I wanted to really try it out before I passed judgement on it. I chose to try it out as I am a massive fan of Maybelline's 'Baby Lips' so I wanted to see if this lived up to the name.

On first look, the tube is such a lovely design and the joke about 'only for adults!' against the product name is quite humorous. When something is nicely designed as this it makes me want it more. I am a sucker for it! It also claims to be a lightweight primer and an instant pore eraser. But does it do what is claims on the tube?

With other primers I have used I have found them to be too slippery that don't sit well on my skin. When I go on to do my make up I feel that primer just makes it worse. So when I got this, I was slightly cautious. I was wrong to be!

The primer is lightweight and you only need a tiny bit to spread well across your face. I like to put it on about 15 minutes before I do my make up and by then it has settled in well so my make up doesn't go slippery with it.

I decided for myself that I only wanted to put it on a certain parts of my cheeks. These are areas I really wanted pores to be minimised as I have also got some horrible deep scars that I can't get rid of! So I wanted to make those parts look as good as possible.

After a whole day of make up my concealer stayed on really well, I would perhaps even go further to saying it stayed on better than it would without primer! I'd also say that my pores looked minimised which I was relieved about.

Overall I really like this primer and there is nothing I dislike about it. I use it daily and I am glad I got to try it out. It is a cheap, reasonable price so I would be happy to repurchase it again. I would definitely recommend it to you all.

Have you used this product? What do you think about it? Let me know!

Getting Organised Series: #1

Hello BumbleBeas!

A lot of eventful things have been happening in my life the past year and one thing that has been let down because of it is my bedroom. My bedroom has taken a backseat in my life and it has really become a disorganised mess. Everything is a state, nothing is tidy and I can never find a single thing. My room has become as disorganised as my life. I'm not even exaggerating: I haven't seen my entire bedroom floor in months and every drawer and corner of my room is just one big muddle.

So then it occurred to me that if there is one thing I can take control of in my life is the setting I am in. Having a bedroom in such a state that I am embarrassed about has made me feel down and I know if I can get on top of it and achieve organisation then that will transfer in to me feeling a bit happier about life.

After doing a lot of research on organisation and watching various videos/reading posts on different ways of organising and using materials you have to get tidy I have finally begun the long process of sorting out my room! When I can come home from a stressful day and feel at peace in my room is the day I will be happy.

So I thought I would take you all along on my journey. This will be my getting organised for a more organised life and an organised mind series which will include updates on my situation, ideas and DIY crafts. I have a few ideas so stay tuned!

And if your room as in much as a state as mine you might want to join me on battling it. You will feel better for it afterwards!

Becoming Vegetarian: My Experience

Hello BumbleBeas!

Before I start let me make it clear: I am NOT trying to persuade you to become vegetarian nor am I criticising you for eating meat. I respect people's choices whether they love eating meat, vegetarian or vegan etc. I decided to make this post simply to be a read for people who may be interested in how I went vegetarian. That is all.

Nobody in my family are vegetarian. Everybody eats meat, especially my sister and step sister who LOVE meat. Yet I was never much a fan of meat. Yes I'd eat it, my favourite was chicken, but you'd never find me eating a huge steak or a big slice of bacon.

I always found it a problem eating meat that looked like it came from an animal. I never liked eating meat off the bone and I would only eat it when it just looked like food, rather than an animal. This way I could pretend it wasn't a dead animal and didn't feel guilty for it.

About 2 and a half years ago, nearly 3, I started to think more about how the meat gets on to our plate and the whole process of killing the animals. The more I thought about it the more it disgusted me. Then I thought: why don't I just stop eating meat?

This was a big decision for me that I wanted to think about and do my research on before I made any decisions. Firstly I watched some documentaries and did some research on how animals get from the farm to our plates. I then did research on vegetarianism and if it was healthy for you, how to eat the proper foods etc.

I didn't make the decision lightly to go vegetarian. It took me about 6 months/year for me to weigh up the pros and cons of becoming vegetarian to finally say that I was going to do it.

My family were surprised but they accepted it. My Nan was totally disgusted with it but she dealt with it. I told them I wasn't going to immediately stop eating meat as I wanted to cut it out my diet slowly so over the course of a week and a half I slowly cut out meat and started adding various other foods. It took me a while to get used to no meat and I did miss it but I was determined.

At first I found meals so damn boring and bland as all I was doing was eating quorn but then my Mum bought a vegetarian cookbook to try other stuff. Thanks to becoming vegetarian I have now discovered so many foods and meals I would have never have tried before or even imagined existed. This has also affected my family as ALL of them have also discovered new foods because of me that they like and now eat a more variety of meals. For example, my sisters will now choose quorn mince meat over real meat now and my Mum loves lentil cottage pie! It has been good for all of us.

It has now been exactly two years since I went vegetarian and I don't regret it. Many people thought I wouldn't last longer than a month but I surprised them all. What has surprised me as that I don't miss meat at all now. Sometimes I find it difficult when there is only one vegetarian option at a restaurant or find it difficult at Christmas when I can't eat the same as my family but personally for me it is worth it. I also feel so much better in myself and I know I am doing something I truly believe in.

I can understand people's point when they say eating meat is our nature etc but it just isn't right for me personally. Everybody has different opinions and mine is that I cannot justify to myself eating a dead animal when I can eat numerous of other foods.

If you are thinking about stopping eating meat or becoming vegan etc I strongly recommend you do your research first rather than deciding on a whim. There are both advantages and disadvantages to it all and you just need to be fully rounded in knowledge before making a reasonable decision.

So that is it! What are your opinions? Let me know!

February Favourites!

Hey BumbleBeas,

It's that time again!
1. SEVENTEEN MIRACLE MATTE PRESSED POWDER
I have never used powder before so this was my first time and boy it didn't let me down! I will be writing a review on this soon but so far I really like it and use it daily.

2. MAYBELLINE COLOUR TATTOO -EVERLASTING NAVY

I absolutely adore this eyeshadow! I have written a review on it if you'd like to go see it but it is by far the best eyeshadow I have ever used and I'm glad I bought it.

3. RIMMEL MOISTURE RENEW LIPSTICK DARK NIGHT WATERL-OOPS!

A fantastic lipstick which my photos do no justice to. A lovely plum/purpley lipstick which for me lasted six hours before it came off. I am in love with the colour and it makes me feel confident when I wear it. A review will be coming soon!

4. ALLEGIANT BY VERONICA ROTH

The last book in the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. It goes Divergent, Insurgent then Allegiant. This book made me bawl my eyes out and I would say the trilogy is one of my top favourite series of books I have ever read. Can't wait for the Divergent film to come out in April!

So that's it! Have you used any of these or read Allegiant? What did you think? What is in your February Favourites? Let me know I'd love to hear!
