Empties #6

  • Superdrug Tea Tree Foaming Facial Wash- This was bought at the airport in September because I didn't have any face wash for my trip and it lasted me a good two months! It just a simple tea tree foaming cleanser really, not much to say about it. I would say that I would use it again though.

  • Boots Dry Shampoo 'Paradise Island'- I normally use Batiste dry shampoo but my local Boots didn't have any so I went for the Boots own one. I still prefer Batiste but it did the job and I used it all up. I think I found it a bit more 'chalky' but nothing I couldn't deal with.

  • L'Oreal Studio Line Hot & Smooth Hot Straight Cream- I have gone through a million of these. It really suits my long straight hair and ensures it is safe from damage from me straightening it nearly everyday.

  • Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel- I got this for my birthday in April and only in recent months got round to using it. It is quite a nice shower gel, smells subtly like roses and lathers up well.

  • The Body Shop Mango Sugar Body Scrub- It was disappointing when I finished this scrub- I absolutely love it! It smells incredible and is good to use before shaving.

  • Natural Collection Green Corrector Stick- Another item that I have gone through a million of. These will always feature in my empties post! I use it every time I use my make up without fail and it is definitely my holy grail item.

W7 Go Colour Corrective Concealer

Hello!

If you've been here a while then you would know that I really like my green corrector concealers. For anyone who doesn't know, using a green concealer on your face underneath your foundation/concealer neutralises redness. This can be used on red skin, blemishes and acne. As someone who has a lot of redness from scarring, this is perfect for me and I NEVER apply my make up without using a green concealer! And no, it doesn't make your make up have a green tinge.

This is the W7 Go Colour Corrective Concealer. I haven't used W7 make up before but have used a couple of nail polishes by them. I've seen W7 be used by bloggers and YouTubers but I haven't seen W7 being sold in anywhere around me. However, when my Mum went to Scotland she spotted W7 there and decided to buy this for me to try.

The concealer does what it says on the pot. It covers well and does neutralise redness. Because it is in a pot you have to either use a brush to apply the product or use your fingers which I am not used to. I normally use concealer sticks that I apply straight onto my face.  But anyway, for this I used an angled eye brush to apply it as I thought it would be more hygienic than using my fingers! I like using an angled brush as it means I can apply it to a more specific area and also get into small areas like the sides of my nose better.

There are pros and cons to it being in a pot. A positive is that because I use a brush I can apply it to specific areas which would be good if you only want to apply it to a few spots or really small areas. Despite this, a negative is that it means it takes longer to apply than using a corrector stick like I normally do.

Due to the fact I like to put green on most of my face in large areas, it would make more sense for me to use a corrector stick as it will cover the larger areas quicker. However, I do like it for the sides of my nose and around my eyes. If you want to go for smaller areas I think this would be better for you.

But overall it does the job it intends to do and it is not a bad product. You can buy it for £4.95 for 7g. It isn't as cheap as my Natural Collection Green Stick Concealer at £1.99 but I don't know which you get more product in as I can't find how much product there is in the Natural Collection One. If I ever see this around I might buy it again and as I said above, I would recommend it to people who only want to apply on a small area at a time.

Do you use any coloured corrector sticks to neutralise certain colours in your face? Let me know! Also, feel free to check out my review of the Natural Collection Green Corrector Stick (click here) and the Max Factor Colour Correcting Green Stick (click here).

4 Products I Always Repurchase

Batiste Dry Shampoo

After dabbling with a few dry shampoos at the beginning of my dry shampoo journey I finally settled on Batiste dry shampoo. Batiste has changed the hair game for me forever. Before dry shampoo I was washing my hair every other day and as somebody who sees hair washing as a chore, I absolutely hated it. But since using Batiste I only have to wash my hair twice a week. It has saved my life! It doesn't really matter to me which Batiste I use (there are various scents) but I usually go for the original one or the tropical one.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water was also a game changer for me as it persuaded me to give up the make up wipes for good. Before I discovered this I was still using make up wipes (oh the horror) and I never found my skin to be totally clean. However, now with the help of this, a cotton pad and my daily face wash, my skin seems a lot cleaner and I have less break outs. Yay! It also makes removing eye make up easier which is a plus.

L'Oreal Line Studio Hot & Sleek Heat Protect Cream

I have been using this after washing my hair for as long as I can remember. Definitely before even watching beauty YouTubers, reading blogs and my love for make up were even a thing.  I use this hair cream on damp hair and then brush it through with a comb. It protects your hair from heat and frizz for about 3 days, which is good for me as I straighten my hair quite a lot. It calls itself a sleeking balm and I couldn't agree more.

Natural Collection Green Corrector Stick

Finally we have the product that I NEVER skip in my make up routine. As someone who regularly suffers from acne and has red acne scars, this is a life saver for me. I put this on redness and the green counteracts the redness for a more flawless skin-tone look after foundation. What's great is that this stick is only £1.99 so I literally buy at least 5 at a time. I also sometimes get red dry patches on my neck and when I want to cover it up this also helps loads. Unless my skin ever gets better than I don't think I will ever stop using this.

So there we have it! Those are 4 products I always repurchase and have been doing so for years. As you can see they are game changers for me. If something works so brilliantly for you, then why give it up? They are holy grail products and will probably continue to be so for many years to come.

What are some products you always repurchase? Let me know!

Make Up of the Day

 Hey!

Yesterday I went out down town with my boyfriend. It was a really warm and sunny day so we did a bit of shopping (I had birthday presents to buy) and had a nice cold pint in a pub garden. It was lush.

So anyway, I'll show you below what make up I wore. Please note the majority of these products I have reviewed so if you want to see my review on them, please click the product names.

Base: Benefit the POREfessional: License to Blot Sample, Natural Collection Green Stick Corrector, Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, Collection Lasting Perfection Powder.

Eyes: Benefit Gimme Brow, Zoeva Graphic Eyes+ 'Good Karma' Eyeliner, Max Factor Falsh Lash Effect 24 Hour Mascara (bottom lashes), Rimmel Scandaleyes Lycra Flex Mascara (top lashes).

Lips: Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm 'Shameless'.

As for brushes, which I forgot to include, I used my trusty Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and my Seventeen Cheeks Brush.

And that's it! I really liked this make up look and it made me feel a bit like a mermaid to match my silver glittery nails and top with an anchor on.

Do you use any of these make up items? Let me know!

Get Ready With Me

Hey all!

Seeing as my last GRWM post seemed to go down a treat with you guys, (click here if you haven't seen it), I thought I would make another one for you! This day wasn't for a special occasion, just a normal day in the life of me!

Just to say, a lot of the products mentioned in this post I have written reviews on before. To see if I have reviewed them, just click on the product name and it'll take you to the link!

First of all I brushed my teeth and washed my face using my Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser from The Body Shop.

Then it was time for my base make up! In order, I used the BareMinerals Prime Time Primer which I forgot to take a photograph of, Natural Collection Corrector Stick, Collection Lasting Perfection foundation with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, Collection Lasting Perfection Powder with my Seventeen Face Brush and finally I used the Maybelline Babylips in 'Cherry' on my lips for a hint of colour.

Then the fun bit! I combed through my eyebrows with my BD eyebrow and eye brush and used the Benefit Gimme Brow on them. I then used my Urban Decay palette with my Seventeen eye brushes. I patted 'Walk of Shame' all over the eyelid and in the crease then deepened the crease and outer eye with 'Naked 2'. Finally I applied 'Venus' in the corners of my eyes and on the middle of the lid to brighten them up and make me look more awake. Finally I used the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara on my lower lashes and the Rimmel ScandalEyes Lyrca Flex Macara on my top eyelashes.

On my nails I had BarryM Aquarium in 'Pacific'.

Then time for clothes! It was kinda warm outside so I put on this 'Occult Star Top' from Heartless Clothing which has various symbols all over it. I love this because it is lose, good with the heat and has a sort of mesh part on the back at the top which gives it even more detail.

On my legs I wore plain black tights from Marks and Spencers.
Because I was wearing tights I wanted to wear shorts underneath the top so I wore my shorts from Banned Clothing/Apparel. I like them because they have candy skulls on the back pockets- sorry I had to take a butt photo for this!

Then, as always, I straightened the middle to end lengths of my hair. I have had the same straighteners since I was like, 12 years old! Too attached to let them go. I don't know their name or even if they sell them anymore but they're from Babyliss.

The last step was to put on The Body Shop Mango Body Mist. I love how this smells- fruity and citrus-y which is perfect for warmer weather!

And that was it! Thank you for reading this photo heavy post! What do you think? Let me know!

Empties #3

 Hey!

Here is my third empties post. I recently decided to put a box I had gotten in a gift set from The Body Shop aside to store empty products in so I can collect them together and know when it was a good time to make an Empties post. I have a lot of empty products at the moment so there is plenty to get through! There's just something nice about finishing a product and being able to start a completely new one.

Here are my make up empties. You can definitely see some patterns here! First I have my Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation and 2 concealers (review for both). Next, you can probably tell that I love using green corrector sticks on my face as there is the Max Factor Colour Correcting Green Concealer (review) and 3 Natural Collection ones (review). Finally we have two liquid eyeliners: The CCUK Quickk Stroke Eyeliner (my first ever liquid eyeliner that I've only just let myself throw away) and the L'oreal Superliner. I thought the L'oreal Superliner was awful as it smudged easily and I didn't even get to finish it- it dried out instead! I would not repurchase it for sure.

Next I have my skincare empties. First of all is the Garnier Micellar Water (review) which I go through bottle after bottle of. There is also 3 products from The Body Shop: The Cranberry Shower Gel from Christmas which I really liked the smell of and the Tea Tree Blemish Gel and Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser. I ALWAYS use the Tea Tree range from The Body Shop! I had also finished a box of 200 cotton buds from Boots which I use for perfecting eye make up.

The Best of 2014 | Make Up & Skincare!

Hey guys!

I know this post is really late but I thought I would share with you my favourite make up and skincare for 2014! 2014 was a real eye opener in make up for me and I have definitely accumulated a few long time favourites! Please note a lot of these favourites I have reviewed on this blog before so just click the tag of it to see if I've reviewed it!

>Skincare:
  • Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water- I have bought bottle after bottle of this in 2014 and it allowed me to finally ditch the make up wipes. It's amazing to take make up off with and I will forever keep repurchasing it!
  • The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash- This has for many years been my face wash. As someone who suffers terribly from acne I always like to use tea tree and don't want to switch up my skincare routine too much because I know what works for me. I will probably never stop buying this!
  • Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser- I have been using this moisturiser for about two years and I never switch it up. It smells like lovely grapefruit and feels amazing on the skin. It soaks in quickly so you can apply your make up soon after and is does not clog up pores. I'm in love with it!
>Eyes:

  • Sleek i-Divine Storm Eyeshadow Palette- I love this little palette for all kinds of looks as it can take you from day to night. It is super affordable and makes me want to buy other palettes from the range!
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Everlasting Navy- If you're one of those people like me where eyeshadow never seems to stay put on your eyelids then these cream gel eyeshadows are for you. I got the blue one as it matches my eye colour perfectly and I love a pop of colour. I always get complimented whenever I wear this and it is certainly long wearing! I am going to buy more from this range for sure.
  • L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara- As soon as I saw the advert for this mascara I knew I wanted it. The name is great, the packaging is beautiful and the wand is a good amount of flexible. It claims to lengthen your eyelashes and it certainly does do that! I was super disappointed when I finished it and had to chuck it away and would definitely recommend it.
  • Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner- I tried this eyeliner on a whim and wasn't disappointed. Although flicks seem to fade a bit after a long day the brush is super easy to use and I can do my eyeliner quickly and efficiently.
  • Benefit Gimme Brow- Although this isn't of my eyes I didn't see the point in making a separate category for eyebrows when it was only this product. Gimme Brow is my first product from Benefit and I have been using it since April. It tints my eyebrows and is good at filling in sparse areas whilst holding the shape of my brows in place. I absolutely adore this eyebrow gel and it is so long-lasting!
>Lips:
  • Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm Cherry Me- I have a few more of these baby lip balms but this one is my favourite. On days where you are having a natural look this subtle red will go down a treat. It smells great, looks great and is all around just fab.
  • Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm- I have Striking (red) and Shameless (purple) which I love equally as much. These are the ones to use when you want to put on some lip colour but don't have time to put on lipstick! They're certainly matte like they suggest. They are also the ones to use when you know you're going to be eating or kissing(!). I love them as they're super easy, beautiful and long-lasting. Definitely what I go for when I go out for dinner with my boyfriend haha!
  • Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub- You can tell I love this when this is my second tub of it and I already have a third one in advance for when this one finishes. This is my ultimate lip scrub that lasts for about a year and does an excellent job at exfoliating your lips. I like to use it after a shower or before I apply lipstick for a smooth finish. It tastes yummy too!
>Face:
  • Natural Collection Green Corrector Stick- Because I have a lot of redness on my face I always use green underneath my foundation to cancel out the redness: and this is the product behind it! I have lost count of how many of these I have bought but they're super cheap and super good at what they do!
  • Real Techniques Expert Face Brush- I always use this brush for my foundation. It is an incredible brush that looks beautiful, feels beautiful and applies foundation flawlessly. Cannot recommend it enough especially for a first brush from Real Techniques!
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation- I always use this foundation and the colour works perfectly for me. It is high coverage which I need and is long lasting.
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer- I have been using this concealer for absolute years and years, even before bloggers started raving about it. Hipster, I know! It stays on for a long time and is super high coverage which is excellent for redness and acne.
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Powder- To top it off is the powder that goes with the other two of the range and I love it. It definitely is mattifying and will turn any high-shine area in to Mr Matte. Love it!

It is clear from  my favourites that my ultimate make up brand of the year was Maybelline!
My next post will be my favourite books and DVDs of 2014.
What were your favourites for make up and skincare in 2014? Let me know!

My Everyday Make Up

Hey guys,

Today I thought I would show you the make up I wear on a pretty much daily basis which is a fairly basic look. This is what I wear if I'm going to Sixth Form or if I am not going anywhere where I want to also put on lipstick, eyeshadow etc. I have written reviews on all of these products; I will put 'click here' in brackets after the product name to link you to my review if you wish to see it.

I forgot to put my primer in there too, but first I use the Baby Skin Primer (click here) from Maybelline as a base. I then use my Natural Collection Green Stick Corrector (click here) to cover up redness and spots as it counteracts the redness on my skin.

I then use my Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation (click here) for a full coverage over my face then use the Lasting Perfection Concealer (click here) on any areas where I need it. I finish this off with the Lasting Perfection Powder (click here).

I then go on to my lips and use Baby Lips lip balm by Maybelline in red (click here) which smells like cherries and leaves a subtle tint of red on my lips. I then comb my eyebrows with the Gimme Brow by Benefit (click here) and style them to how I like them.

Lastly, I do my eyes. I always like to do eyeliner on the top of my eyes with a thick cat eye flick at the ends. I am currently using the Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeliner (click here). Finally, I use L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara (click here) on my eyelashes.

And that's it! What is a make up product you use daily? Let me know!

Empties #1

Hello!

So this is my first empties post! It seemed I was finishing these products all at the same time so it seemed silly not to make a post out of it!

1) Impulse Very Pink- Smells a lovely smell that I can't quite put my finger on. It's a shame Impulse body sprays never last that long!
2) Natural Collection Green Skin Corrector Stick- I go through these like nobody's business! I use these underneath every make up look to cancel out redness (my skin has a lot of it) and it works a treat!
3) The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub- I have been using this facial scrub in the shower twice a week since Christmas and I have only just finished it! A lovely scrub for those of you with blemished skin and acne like me!
4) Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel- I absolutely love this shower gel and I am sad I have finished it! To see my review of it, click here.

That's my first empties post! Do you use any of these products? What product have you finished? Let me know!

Natural Collection Green Correction Stick Review!

Hello BumbleBeas!

Today I am reviewing the Natural Collection Green Correction Concealer Stick which I bought in Boots for the small amount of £1.99.

If you don't know what green concealers are, they are used to go underneath your foundation/concealer to counter out the redness. If you are someone who suffers from acne, redness or scarring like me then this is perfect for you. It is fantastic at reducing redness!

I have been using one of these for a year or two now but by another brand. It was super good but for some reason they discontinued it! Gutted, I needed to find another one fast and this is what I found.

The photo is of the third one of mine. It is a lighter green than my old one but it does reduce redness and I wouldn't live without it. However I find the stick very weak and each one I have used has snapped. In fact, this one is broken and I haven't even used it! However, it is still usable you just have to be careful with it.

Another problem I found with it is that if you are someone who uses it every day and over the majority of your face (like me!) then it won't last long. My first one lasted a month and a half whereas the old ones I used to use would last much longer. Despite this it is still cheap so I guess it doesn't make much difference to the bank.

But yes, it does work and does what it says on the label. I would recommend it. I am faithful to green corrector sticks and are the best weapon for fighting redness on your skin or the redness that comes with spots.

PROS:
  • Reduces redness
  • Easy to apply and blend
  • Doesn't show green through your foundation/concealer
  • Easy to use on acne
  • Cheap

CONS:

  • Breaks very easily
  • Quite a light green
  • The stick doesn't last very long

What do you think? Have you used it? How do you cover up redness? Let me know!

Boots Haul!

Hey BumbleBeas!

The other day I decided to treat myself to some new stuff from Boots. You've got to treat yourself once in a while, right?

  1. Real Techniques- Expert Face Brush I have been wanting one of these brushes for a long while! I finally bit the bullet and chose to get the 'expert face' one for my foundation. I love it!
  2. Collection- Lasting Perfection Foundation I have been using the concealer for years and I never realises there was a foundation until recently. I never wear foundation so this was a step up for me!
  3. Collection- Lasting Perfection Concealer I have been using this concealer religiously for years and it is the best concealer ever. However, they recently altered the name, shades and packaging and this is the first time I have bought the new edition!
  4. Natural Collection- Green Correction Stick This is the second time I have bought this as my first one ran out. I used to use the most perfect green corrector stick from No 7/17 but it got discontinued so I had to find a new one!
  5. L'oreal- Super Liner Gelmatic L'oreal recently either discontinued my usual eyeliner which I had been using every day for years or Boots just don't sell it any longer. Either way I had to find a new eyeliner and this is what I found!
A review for ALL of these products will be coming soon, so look out for those!
Have you used any of these or want any of it? What do you think of them? Let me know!
