My New Tattoo

Hey,

Last August I got my first tattoo and wrote about my experience in a blog post. Then in April this year I got my second tattoo.

As many people know, I love cats. I already have the Cheshire Cat tattooed on my right thigh. But I particularly love my cat Suki. So much so, I decided to get her tattooed on my left thigh!

I really liked the tattoo parlour I went to last time, so I decided to stick to that one. It is called Purple Rose Tattoo Parlour in Bristol. I found one of the artists, Hannah, specialised in animal/pet tattoos and saw on Instagram she had actually tattooed a cat who looks similar to mine. I had a consultation with her and showed her the above photo which she used to draw Suki. I really felt like she was the right person to the tattoo. I can't stress enough how important it is to research tattoo artists and pick the right one for you whose strength is the style you're after.

On the day Hannah made me feel really comfortable and we had a nice chat. She told me she tattoos quickly which she did and she tattooed me in 2 hours. Which was a relief, because I have such a low pain tolerance! I really struggled with the pain.

Healing was an absolute breeze. I wore Dermalize for 3 days, which I had to change each day. However, I completely messed one change up so had to wear it for another day! Hannah showed me a YouTube tutorial instructing me on how to accurately change the Dermalize. I loved using Dermalize as it made me worry less about the first 3 initial days of healing and made going to work easier. I washed once a day with Simple fragrance free soap and moisturised with Lush's Dream Cream once or twice a day. My tattoo didn't scab at all and peeled really easily and lightly. All the colours have stayed bright and I didn't need touch ups. Wish my Cheshire Cat tattoo healed this well!

I absolutely love my tattoo and it always gets compliments. I am so pleased I am going to have my Suki cat with me for the rest of my life and everyone can see her beautiful two face markings. I also like that Cheshire Cat has a friend and now I can really look like The Crazy Cat Lady! I also like to make the joke that I now have a "Pussy Gang" and "The 3 Musketeers"...you can work that one out :P
