L'Oreal Paris Infallible 24hr-Matte Foundation

Hello there!

For probably half a year or so, I had been repeatedly noticing the L'Oreal Paris Infallible 24hr-Matte Foundation appear on blogs and YouTube videos. It seems that there are plenty of make up lovers out there who rate this foundation so I decided I wanted to see what the fuss was about for myself. Was it really as good as everyone was saying?

What are the claims?

The foundation claims to be a matte foundation that reduces shine for up to 24 hours. It also claims to have perfect coverage, have a no cakey effect and be waterproof and steamproof.

Does it live up to its claims?

The foundation is certainly matte. However, it does not remain matte for 24 hours. But who wears their foundation for 24 hours anyway, and who would really expect their foundation to stay perfect that long? I can go out in the day, whether it is to work or elsewhere, or go out on the night, and my foundation WILL stay matte. However, if I were to apply my foundation early in the day and wear it through to the night, the oil of my T-Zone will come through. If I plan to do this, before I go out on the night I do have to blot my T-Zone and reapply powder. It definitely puts my oily T-Zone at bay, but not for all day and night. Alas, this isn't really much of a problem to me.

I also think it has great coverage. I still apply concealer to areas of the face I know I am increasingly red but I do feel confident that it covers blemishes and redness well. I also agree that it doesn't have a cakey effect which is good because nobody wants to feel suffocated by their own make up!

As for waterproof and steamproof, I don't know. I've never experienced the need for either whilst using this foundation so it wouldn't be fair for me to comment. Despite this, I can say that it is good in heat. I've taken this foundation on holiday with me and it lasted fine in the heat, whereas some foundations can go a bit funny when it is hot.

What I like

I like the fuller coverage for my blemished face and I like that it is matte. It doesn't seem to settle into fine lines on areas of the face that aren't around the eyes. It looks flawless on the skin and doesn't show brush streaks from application. Also, it doesn't have flashback from flash photography which is a relief as my previous foundation did! But to be fair it did have SPF in it and this one doesn't.

What I dislike

The packaging frustrates me. It comes in a squeezy tube which doesn't seem the best form of packaging for foundation as sometimes you have to be careful you don't squeeze out too much product which then comes to waste. Furthermore I can imagine this would become even more annoying when you come to the end of the product and want to try and squeeze out what is left so not to waste it. I would much prefer if it came with a pump!

Although the foundation doesn't settle into fine lines on my fine, it does happen to settle a bit into the fine lines underneath my eyes. It doesn't settle as much as previous foundations have for me but it still does. Because of this every so often I like to wipe my finger lightly across the lines to wipe away any build up of product.

Additionally, you have to work in small patches. The foundation does blend together but it is a bit difficult to blend over a large area. It is better to work in multiple small spaces then blend those spaces together.

To conclude

Overall, I am really fond of this foundation and was impressed when I started using it. I have been using it for 3 months now nearly daily and I do like how it makes my base look. It is matte, it covers my redness and doesn't make me look orange. I will definitely repurchase this foundation when I finish it and for £7.99 the price isn't too bad at all! I would mainly recommend it to people who prefer a fuller, matte coverage and more specifically to people with normal to blemished skin. I don't get an oily T-Zone straight away but I do get one by the end of the day so I am unsure how it would react with someone who gets quite oily immediately. But it is definitely worth a try and maybe with the use of a good primer! I know from the dislikes it may not seem I like it that much but I actually do love it. I had been thinking about trying out this foundation for months and months and I only wish that I had bought it sooner.

Have you used this foundation and if so, what did you think of it?

Boots Haul | Make Up & Holiday Necessities

Hello!

The other day I made a trip to my local Boots store with my Mum to replenish some make up items and stock up for my upcoming holiday. I spent a little bit more money than I ideally wanted to but it was worth it!

  • Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive Day Cream SPF 15-

I'm going on holiday in about a week's time and I needed a SPF for my face. I'm really picky about what SPF I will put on my face as some can cause me to break out. Most years I stick to Nivea, and this year I decided to go for a sensitive skin one. I have sensitive skin and this cream also claims to help redness, which I have a lot of, so I am looking forward to trying this.

  • Tresemme Freeze Hold Hairspray 100ml-

Another item for going on holiday is this smaller sized version of hairspray. I have always used Tresemme hairspray so I got a smaller bottle to take on holiday. It's good because it is 100ml which is the amount of liquid you can take on a plane.

  • L'Oreal Infallible 24hr Matte Foundation [Rose Beige]-

As the bad beauty blogger I am, I've always only used the same foundation. However, I'm finding more and more lately that the foundation that I use isn't really suitable to my skin type now which is kind of dry. I have been seeing so many good reviews over the past few months on this foundation so I have been dying to try it. I always want a good coverage matte foundation so hopefully this will do the trick. I used to always use the L'Oreal Infallible eyeliner in my high school days so I have high standards for this!

  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer [02 Cool Medium & 03 Warm Medium]-

This is my holy grail concealer and when I decided to change foundation I just couldn't convince myself to change concealer. I couldn't decide which colour would go better with my new foundation so I bought both 02 and 03 shades to try with it. Before that, I always used 03. I adore this concealer and it is certainly the concealer I recommend for anyone who suffers with acne, redness and scarring like I do.

  • Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner Pen-

My eyeliner (which is this one) is currently on its last legs so I thought I better buy a new one! I'm usually more flexible when it comes to liquid eyeliners and trying new ones but this time I decided to stick with something I know that works for me. I love doing winged eyeliner and this is my favourite liquid eyeliner to do that. What more can I say?

  • Eylure Pro-Lash Individuals [Short, Medium & Long Length]-

Again, as the bad beauty blogger I am, I have never used false eyelashes. I've been wanting to for ages but always convinced myself I would be crap at applying them. However, then I think back to the days where I struggled with mascara and eyeliner- now look at me! But the reason I finally decided to get eyelashes was because I recently had an eye infection which meant I lost a large amount of eyelashes. It's to the point where I look like I don't have many eyelashes and they're super gappy so I decided to try my hand at individual lashes. Hopefully they will bring me more confidence with my eyelashes and totally change my eye make up!

  • Carex Aloe Vera Refreshing Hand Gel-

If I had a pound for every time I have been out and wished I had some antibatcerial hand gel to use then I would be rich. My main reason to buy this was so I could take it on holiday with me in case I needed it but this will go straight in my handbag afterwards. I also find that I get ill a hell of a lot so I am hoping if I use this outside more I might find myself getting ill less.

  • Boots Travel Bottles-

I didn't take a photo of these but I bought two travel bottles to put some of my usual Tresemme Colour Fade Protection Shampoo & Conditioner in for when I go away. I usually save smaller bottles from other products to use as travel bottles but I still needed another 2. I couldn't find a travel sized version of the shampoo and conditioner I like and I am too smitten with them to buy anything else!

So that's it! Have you used any of these items? Let me know!

Get Ready With Me

Hey all!

Seeing as my last GRWM post seemed to go down a treat with you guys, (click here if you haven't seen it), I thought I would make another one for you! This day wasn't for a special occasion, just a normal day in the life of me!

Just to say, a lot of the products mentioned in this post I have written reviews on before. To see if I have reviewed them, just click on the product name and it'll take you to the link!

First of all I brushed my teeth and washed my face using my Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser from The Body Shop.

Then it was time for my base make up! In order, I used the BareMinerals Prime Time Primer which I forgot to take a photograph of, Natural Collection Corrector Stick, Collection Lasting Perfection foundation with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, Collection Lasting Perfection Powder with my Seventeen Face Brush and finally I used the Maybelline Babylips in 'Cherry' on my lips for a hint of colour.

Then the fun bit! I combed through my eyebrows with my BD eyebrow and eye brush and used the Benefit Gimme Brow on them. I then used my Urban Decay palette with my Seventeen eye brushes. I patted 'Walk of Shame' all over the eyelid and in the crease then deepened the crease and outer eye with 'Naked 2'. Finally I applied 'Venus' in the corners of my eyes and on the middle of the lid to brighten them up and make me look more awake. Finally I used the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara on my lower lashes and the Rimmel ScandalEyes Lyrca Flex Macara on my top eyelashes.

On my nails I had BarryM Aquarium in 'Pacific'.

Then time for clothes! It was kinda warm outside so I put on this 'Occult Star Top' from Heartless Clothing which has various symbols all over it. I love this because it is lose, good with the heat and has a sort of mesh part on the back at the top which gives it even more detail.

On my legs I wore plain black tights from Marks and Spencers.
Because I was wearing tights I wanted to wear shorts underneath the top so I wore my shorts from Banned Clothing/Apparel. I like them because they have candy skulls on the back pockets- sorry I had to take a butt photo for this!

Then, as always, I straightened the middle to end lengths of my hair. I have had the same straighteners since I was like, 12 years old! Too attached to let them go. I don't know their name or even if they sell them anymore but they're from Babyliss.

The last step was to put on The Body Shop Mango Body Mist. I love how this smells- fruity and citrus-y which is perfect for warmer weather!

And that was it! Thank you for reading this photo heavy post! What do you think? Let me know!

Empties #3

 Hey!

Here is my third empties post. I recently decided to put a box I had gotten in a gift set from The Body Shop aside to store empty products in so I can collect them together and know when it was a good time to make an Empties post. I have a lot of empty products at the moment so there is plenty to get through! There's just something nice about finishing a product and being able to start a completely new one.

Here are my make up empties. You can definitely see some patterns here! First I have my Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation and 2 concealers (review for both). Next, you can probably tell that I love using green corrector sticks on my face as there is the Max Factor Colour Correcting Green Concealer (review) and 3 Natural Collection ones (review). Finally we have two liquid eyeliners: The CCUK Quickk Stroke Eyeliner (my first ever liquid eyeliner that I've only just let myself throw away) and the L'oreal Superliner. I thought the L'oreal Superliner was awful as it smudged easily and I didn't even get to finish it- it dried out instead! I would not repurchase it for sure.

Next I have my skincare empties. First of all is the Garnier Micellar Water (review) which I go through bottle after bottle of. There is also 3 products from The Body Shop: The Cranberry Shower Gel from Christmas which I really liked the smell of and the Tea Tree Blemish Gel and Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser. I ALWAYS use the Tea Tree range from The Body Shop! I had also finished a box of 200 cotton buds from Boots which I use for perfecting eye make up.

Boots 3 for 2 Mini Haul!

Hey all!

I needed to go to Boots this weekend to replenish my usual foundation. When I was there, I saw everything was 3 for 2! I've been on a spending ban since the beginning of the year as I am not in a job at the moment and I'm trying to save for my gap year so I thought I may as well treat myself. I haven't had any new make up in ages!

So first of all, I bought my holy grail foundation which is the Collection Lasting Perfection foundation (review here). I like it because it' inexpensive, full coverage and lasts all day.

Next, I picked up the new Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit. A review on this will definitely be coming up soon! I have been eyeing this up for weeks now and after watching/reading reviews on it I finally went for it and bought it. I am a beginner when it comes to contouring so hopefully this will teach me a thing or two!

The last thing I got was on a complete whim. I had never seen it before but when I was looking for something I'd want for free out of the 3 for 2 deal this caught my eye. I have been wanting some bright coloured eyeliners for a while so when I spotted the Bourjois Contour Clubbing Eyeliner in 'Purple Night' I knew I had to try it. It is an absolutely stunning bright, deep purple with slight purple shimmer in it. It's gorgeous and I cannot wait to review it for you!

So there we go! Have you used any of these products? Let me know!

Boots Collection Haul!

Hey!

So I went to Boots the other day as I had to pick up some make up. I already use the Collection Lasting Perfection foundation and concealer but I have tanned lately so needed to buy it in a shade darker.

I usually use a different powder but they did not have it so I thought I would try out the Collection Lasting Perfection powder seeing as I already love the other two.

I have written an in-depth review of the foundation and concealer here if you'd like to check it out!

I will also write up a review of the powder soon.

Have you used any of these? What do you think of them? Let me know!

Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation & Concealer REVIEW! (My ULTIMATE concealer!)

Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation:
Would I Repurchase This?   Yes, 100%!
Would I Recommend It To A Friend? Yes
Rating: 9.5/10

I have always used the concealer of this but didn't realise this foundation existed until about three months ago. Knowing how much I love the concealer I bought this foundation with high expectations! I was definitely pleased with it.

On the bottle, it says:

*Lasts for up to 16 hours
*Flawless coverage
*Minimises imperfections
*Oil free
*SPF 20

I found it a bit hard to choose my shade but in the end I went with 'silky beige'. This didn't sound right for me because my skin colour really isn't 'beige' and when I brought it home even my Mum and sister said it probably way too dark for me. HOWEVER when I tried it on it matched perfectly!

This foundation is a medium/high coverage foundation which I like as I suffer from acne/red scarring. This is perfect for my skin and hides blemishes and redness well.

I find this foundation blends very well and doesn't make me look orange. Sometimes I find it kind of clings to the dry patches underneath my eyes which therefore may not make it suitable for really dry skin but it is barely noticeable, only to me.

It does last all day I will give it that, but sometimes it can go a bit 'dusty' looking shall we say around the nose/on wrinkles after about 7 hours. However it isn't that big of a deal and can easily be fixed although it really is not that noticeable!

PROS:

  • Blends easily
  • Doesn't make me orange
  • Medium/High coverage
  • SPF 20
  • Oil free
  • Great for acne prone/red/acne scarred skin
  • Long lasting

CONS:

  • Clings to dry patches slightly
  • Can go slightly 'dusty looking' after approx. 7 hours
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer:

Would I Repurchase This? Yes, always have done and always will!
Would I Recommend This To A Friend? Yes!
Rating: 10/10!

I have been using this concealer for many years now, perhaps four, but this is the first time I have used it since they have changed their brand, the packaging and shade names. I was a bit wary of it but when I eventually found my colour I soon realised it was just as good as it had always been.

Similarly to the foundation, the name of the colour sounded way too dark for me but in actual fact it was perfect! I was also worried about it not blending with the foundation but thankfully it does.

I have always loved this product because it is immensely good at covering up redness, acne and scarring as it is high coverage and blends well. It is so good that I have only recently started wearing it with foundation! I always used to wear the concealer and the concealer alone which worked great. I would only use it where necessary and it still blended great with my natural skin colour.

PROS:

  • Long lasting
  • Blends well
  • High coverage
  • Brilliant at covering imperfections

CONS:

  • Can slightly cling to dry patches

Overall I cannot recommend these products enough. I have been excited for a while to share with you the concealer as it is my ultimate concealer I have used daily for many years. I was quite young when my Mum came home with this to help cover up the horrible 'pizza face' I had at the time and let me tell you it was quite the self-esteem saver. I will forever repurchase these and would definitely recommend you try them out!

Have you used any of these? What do you think of them? Let me know!

March Favourites

Hello BumbleBeas!

My March favourites comes a bit late as it was birthday the other day so it has all been a bit hectic! A big
birthday post will be coming this week. :-)

1. Real Techniques- Expert Face Brush

This is my ultimate favourite for this month and possibly even my favourite of 2014 so far! I am so glad I bought this brush as it applies my foundation wonderfully which gives me more confidence. I would definitely recommend this brush over other ones. To see my full review on it, click here.

2. Seventeen Metallic Cream
I have owned this for a long while now but only started using it at the beginning of March. I like to apply it daily on my eyelids to brighten them! To read my full review, click here.

3 .  American Horror Story
My friend recommended this TV programme to me over a year or so ago and I am so annoyed at myself that it took me so long to watch it! If you like programmes with dark, weird twists then this is the programme for you. It has been described as a horror/erotic horror/supernatural series, but it isn't too 'erotic' before that may put you off! I'll admit it isn't for everyone but I personally absolutely love it and I watched the first series within a day and a half on Netflix. I've heard the other series aren't as good as the first one but I am going to watch them anyway. 10/10!!

4. The Body Shop Tea Tree Night Cream
I have used this product before but somehow stopped using it. But, I fell back in love with it since the beginning of 2014 and once again I use it religiously every night! You put it on before you got to bed and is good for acne and acne scarring. I will write up a full in-depth review on it soon so stay tuned!

5. Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation & Concealer
Although I have been using the concealer for years now, this is the first one I have used since they changed their name from Collection 2000 to Collection, changed the packaging and shades. It as great as it always has been! I never realised they had it in foundation form until recently so when I finally realised I instantly picked it up! It goes so well with the concealer and I feel my make up look so much better with it. I will certainly be buying the lasting perfection powder to complete the collection! (no pun intended)
Full in-depth reviews will be coming soon!

So that is my March favourites! What do you think? Do you use any of these products? Let me know!

Boots Haul!

Hey BumbleBeas!

The other day I decided to treat myself to some new stuff from Boots. You've got to treat yourself once in a while, right?

  1. Real Techniques- Expert Face Brush I have been wanting one of these brushes for a long while! I finally bit the bullet and chose to get the 'expert face' one for my foundation. I love it!
  2. Collection- Lasting Perfection Foundation I have been using the concealer for years and I never realises there was a foundation until recently. I never wear foundation so this was a step up for me!
  3. Collection- Lasting Perfection Concealer I have been using this concealer religiously for years and it is the best concealer ever. However, they recently altered the name, shades and packaging and this is the first time I have bought the new edition!
  4. Natural Collection- Green Correction Stick This is the second time I have bought this as my first one ran out. I used to use the most perfect green corrector stick from No 7/17 but it got discontinued so I had to find a new one!
  5. L'oreal- Super Liner Gelmatic L'oreal recently either discontinued my usual eyeliner which I had been using every day for years or Boots just don't sell it any longer. Either way I had to find a new eyeliner and this is what I found!
A review for ALL of these products will be coming soon, so look out for those!
Have you used any of these or want any of it? What do you think of them? Let me know!

Maybelline Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream Review!

Hello BumbleBeas!

I have been using this BB Cream for about 3 weeks now which I think is a good amount of time to be able to write a fair review. So let's begin!

This BB Cream comes in 3 shades and can be used with or without moisturiser. It comes in a large tube and is only £7.99 from Boots!

Pros
  • It is lightweight
  • Doesn't make you orange and matches your skin colour
  • Doesn't take a lot to use on your face
  • Is moisturising
  • Looks like you have no make up on
  • Easy to apply and doesn't take much skill
  • Makes your skin glow
  • Has SPF 30
  • Feels fresh
  • Looks smooth
  • Doesn't collect in to make up lines in creases

Cons
  • DOESN'T hide imperfections/scars/acne
  • Using too much makes your skin shiny

As you can see below, on the back of the tube it names 8 things it supposedly does which I have mostly either said works or not. I'd say altogether it does 6/8 of those things.

If you're like me and suffer acne, have redness and scarring on your face then this isn't for you to use solely by itself. Although I find it makes my skin look smoother and natural like I have no make up on, it does not hide imperfections.

The good thing about this product though is that when there's a day where you can't be bothered to wear a full face of make up but want your face to look smooth, this is a good product. For me personally, when I am staying at home I will put this all over my face then just add my usual concealer to the parts I really want to conceal.

On a daily use, I use a part of it. I don't use foundation and only use concealer on areas I want to hide (which funnily enough is most of my face) however I will use this on my eyelids, above my eyelids and across my cheekbones. Having it across my cheekbones kind of gives it a glow (only with a small amount) and I use it on my eyelids as my eyelids are prone to have make up lines in the creases.

Overall I only recommend this for people who are lucky enough to have flawless skin and want to go for a natural look. I also recommend it for those days where you don't want a full face of make up.

I will continue using this product until it runs out but I won't be quick to buy another. Perhaps I will for my eyelids and under my eyebrows but other than that I am not 'wowed' by it.

Rate: 7/10

What do you think? Have you used this product? Let me know!
