Lipstick Declutter!

Hello,

I have too many lipsticks! So the other day I decided to make myself go through them all and get rid of any I don't need anymore. I counted I had 29 lip products in total and my little basket was overfilling, so it was time to cull...

The photo above is a photo of my entire collection of lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, lip liners and the one lipgloss Juicy Shaker from Lancome. Here are a few of interest that will definitely be staying:

Urban Decay Comfort Matte 'Stark Naked' Lipstick- A creamy, matte, nude perfect for when you're running late and have to do your make up quickly.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick 'Lolita'- I have already nearly finished one. One of my favourites out of all my lipsticks as it's a beautiful nudey-brown colour.

Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Lipstick 'Rock Steady'- A creamy, shiney red from the Gwen Stefani collection. I adore the packaging!

Kiko Milano Endless Love Lipstick 'Soft Marsala'- From their Valentine's Collection. The lipstick is in the shape of a heart! Although mine is slightly ruined by a terrible ex who decided he would "stamp" the heart on his face...How ironic.

Now on to the items that I decided to get rid of:

BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie 'Break Away' lipstick- This lipstick is discontinued and I am so gutted! These are the first lipsticks I've ever finished and were perfect for days where I needed to do my make up super quick. Also good for nights out because it wouldn't noticeably come off when drinking.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick 'Dark Night Waterl-Oops!'- My second ever lipstick! It's a beautiful purple but it's so old now that it is 'wet', applies patchy and feathers immediately. It has to go!

BarryM Cosmetics Lipstick '37 Black'- Younger me wanted a black lipstick to rock. It is sooo patchy! I have the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick 'Witches' now which is 10x better so this is going to go.

Rimmel Super Lustrous Lipstick (Colour Unknown)- The most terrible lipstick I've ever used. I recieved it in a Glossybox and it's so patchy and streaky that I won't even bother giving it to someone else. It looks like the 'concealer lips' trend from years ago on me so I am just not digging it.

Essence Liquid Lipstick 'Show Off'- The only item I can give away to someone. I got it in a Glossybox and the colour really isn't my style. I've given it to my sister Kelly who suits this colour far better.

So these are all the items I have gotten rid of. 6 may not seem that many but for me I am quite proud and now I have a bit more space in my lipstick organiser to add much nicer lipsticks in to!

*Since this post I have also managed to give away to my sister my Max Factor 'Cherry Kiss', true red lipstick. It is a nice lipstick but quite frankly I have too many red lipsticks and just don't get the use out of it. I am sure my sister will love it.

Thanks for reading!

Lancome Juicy Shaker 'Meli Melon'

Hello all!

I'd like to talk to you guys today about my first ever Lancome product (which I actually won in a giveaway) and probably one of the bigger make up releases in 2016: the Lancome Juicy Shaker. Lisa Eldridge is the Creative Director for Lancome and was involved in the making of this so anything to do with Lisa Eldridge will make me excited!

The Juicy Shakers are described as fruity lip glosses with a bi phased formula pairing oils and pigments for glossy lips. Sweet almond oil, omega 3 and cranberry oil ensure your lips are juicy and moisturised whilst the coverage is sheer. You can see the oil and the pigment separate in the bottle so remember to shake it up! The packaging is exciting looking as it's similar to a cocktail shaker and the applicator is an amazingly soft and bouncy cushion. I really enjoy how the applicator feels like its bouncing on your lips and it certainly helps to make sure you don't go over the lines of your lips.

The colour I have is 'Meli Melon' which is a soft pink. As you can guess from its name, the Juicy Shaker smells like melon and it is AMAZING. It doesn't smell cheap or synthetic and I can't stop smelling it! As for the colour I am not really a fan of pink so I'd be better off with a red, but despite that it is sheer enough that it doesn't bother me too much.

I have mostly used this product alone and I like it best when I am having a minimum 'barely there' make up look as it gives me a little something on the lips. I have also tried it over lipstick by applying it on the middle of my lips to make them look juicy which also works well. I don't own any pink lipsticks but I have used it on red lipstick and it still does the trick. It truly does work well either way which makes it quite versatile!

As it is a lip gloss it doesn't last long if you are eating and drinking. However, I find this is to be expected with lip gloss and it doesn't really matter when you can reapply so easily. Something interesting I found about this is that it doesn't leave that 'sticky' feeling lip glosses always leave and instead feels more comfortable on the lips. Yes, it feels slippery, not not sticky! Does that make any sense? It just doesn't give the same feel that I normally come to expect from lip gloss. I think it is the oils in it that helps.

For someone who doesn't wear pink and doesn't wear lip gloss, this really shocked me. I actually like this and it is definitely not something I usually go for! Sometimes it's good to try something you wouldn't normally try...you may surprise yourself.

The Lancome Juicy Shakers come in 13 shades with one limited edition shade and are £18.00 each.

March Favourites

Let's get down to business! Can anyone name what film that's from? But anyway, here are my March favourites:

  • Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Lipstick 'Rocksteady'- I got this lipstick new this month. I was quite ill at the beginning of March so decided I needed to treat myself to something to cheer myself up. So this happened. I will be reviewing this very soon but sneak peek: I really like it! Plus, can we all appreciate how beautiful the packaging is?

  • Lancome Juicy Shaker 'Meli Melon'- This is something I'd never thought I'd ever own or like. I don't like lipgloss and I don't like pink. So how did this happen? My first product from Lancome which I won in a giveaway and it is honestly one of the most fun make up items I've ever tried. Review coming soon!

  • W7 Go Colour Corrective Concealer 'Green'- I've had this since sometime last year and the reason it is in my favourites this month is because I'm so surprised it has lasted me so long. I use green corrector concealers on the majority of my face nearly every day so I love how long this has lasted. Probably the one I've used the longest! You can read my review on it here.

  • Dark Places by Gillian Flynn- Oh. my. god. This book. I don't want to leave any spoilers, but lets say this book left me feeling shaken up. I read this in under 24 hours because I was so incredibly gripped by it. I felt so many emotions reading it and I do cry at books a lot, but never have I ever felt so shaken up by a story before. I literally sat in silence for 5 minutes after finishing trying to come to terms with what I've read. A few graphic scenes, but definitely an enticing read!

What were your favourites in March? Here's to April: my birthday month!
