August Favourites: Beauty, Fashion & TV

I know it's September now but I don't want to miss my August favourites!

At the beginning of August I treated myself to the Zoeva Rose Golden Eyeshadow Palette which I bought from BeautyBay. It arrived next day even though I didn't ask for next day delivery which was pretty cool! But anyway, this palette is a mix of shimmers and mattes and my favourite colour is 'Copper is King'. The quality is great and it is my most used palette of August. I highly recommend it!

Another new item in August for me was Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in 'Lolita'. My brother bought it for me in America and brought it back which definitely gave him extra brother points. I knew it was an extremely popular colour and he said it was always sold out! I have only worn one other lipstick in August and that was only one day: nearly everyday I've worn this lipstick! It is the perfect brown nude and I am relieved I have a back up of it.

My other two beauty favourites are actually make up brushes which I've had for a long time. The Real Techniques Setting Brush has been in my favourites before because of how versatile it is and since then I have found another use for it. In August I ditched my method of applying concealer with my finger and instead used this brush! It applies great and I can pin point spots with the tip of the brush. As for the small Seventeen eyeshadow brush I have been using it for my inner corner highlight. It is the perfect size for getting into your inner corner and I have mostly been pairing it up with the whiter shade in the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. I love adding some light into the corner of my eyes now!

A non-beauty favourite from August is my new bodysuit from River Island. Before I bought this I was apprehensive of bodysuits because they reminded me too much of the annoying leotards I always had to wear for ballet and tap dancing. However, when I saw 'Rock 'n' Roll Stole My Soul' with a huge skull I knew I had to have it. I love clothing with skulls on and I am certainly a Rock 'n' Roll kinda gal! My favourite way to wear this is with my grey skinny jeans with a ribbed effect on the knees from H&M. I wish I had a better photo of this.

My final favourite is a TV favourite which I am pretty sure is in everyone's August Favourites. Can you guess it? Yes, it's Stranger Things! My boyfriend and I binged watched it across 2 days and we cannot wait for season 2 next year. I love the supernatural element of it and the chemistry between the children are fantastic! Normally I find child actors cringey but here I can certainly see their talent. They're lovable on and off screen and Dustin always has the best quotes in the show by far.

Until next time!

August | Netflix Favourites

As an avid Netflix watcher I have realised that the month of August involved me spending a lot of time watching film after programme after film on there. So I thought, why not share what programmes and films I have been watching on there last month?

  • Once Upon A Time-  This was my ultimate favourite in August. I had been meaning to watch it for ages and when I finally did I was hooked (no pun intended for any Once Upon A Time fans out there). I was hooked to the point where I spent so many hours day and night watching it that I finished all 4 seasons, with hour long episodes, with 22/23 episodes in each series, in about 6 days. For anyone that hasn't heard of Once A Upon A Time, it is basically about well known fairytale characters, such as Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, being thrown into the real world that we know. It is a really gripping show with all kinds of twists and turns and trust me, once you start watching you won't be able to stop!

  • Child's Play- Another favourite has been the Child Play films. They're all on Netflix and I had never actually watched them before despite them being so famous, so my boyfriend and I watched them all. They get a bit repetitive, but they're kinda funny overall. If you haven't heard of Child's Play, they're 'horror movies' which follow a doll that has been taken over by a serial killer named Charles. However, in doll form he takes the name Chuckie. If you don't like dolls you might not like these films but if not then this might be classic for you.

  • Educating Yorkshire- I'm not really sure how I ended up watching this or why I watched the entire series but I did it anyway. It follows a school in Yorkshire, filming all the ups and downs of high school. They are filmed with the teachers' perspectives and the students' perspectives. It was kind of funny watching how some students seem to show off for no reason and whatnot. I don't know really, it was just an easy and humorous watch for me.

  • An American Werewolf in London- I hadn't heard of this film before my boyfriend told me about it but apparently this is another classic. The name pretty much gives the plot away. I can't really explain what I liked about this. I mean, the beginning was boring and some parts of the plot were so bizarre and weird but overall it was a kind of a funny film. For example, one weird but funny bit is when the 'werewolf' is in a porn theatre watching porn and talking to people he had killed. Weird, huh? It's one of those things that you can't really explain so you just have to watch it.

So those were my Netflix favourites for August. What did you watch on Netflix recently? Let me know!

August Favourites!

Hello!

So I know this is quite a late August Favourites post but I have been super busy the past week!

1. Sleek i-Divine Storm Eyeshadow Palette- This palette has served me well this summer! It takes me from day to night and is a fantastic price. A review will be coming your way soon!

2. Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner- This black eyeliner has been my go to pretty much everyday this Summer. I can do such precise winged eyeliner! A review will be here soon.

3. Divergent (DVD)- As a huge fan of the books and as someone who went to see the film the day it came out (which just so happened to be the day after my birthday), I of course had to buy the DVD the day it came out. I recommend the books and the film immensely!

4. HorrorStop American Horror Story 'Bitchcraft' choker and 'On Wednesdays We Wear Black' ring- American Horror Story is one of my favourite TV programmes and as soon as I saw this ring and choker on the Etsy page HorrorStop I just could not resist!

What were your favourites for August? Let me know!
