What I Got for my Birthday 2016

Birthday cake from my Dad

Hey!

On the 3rd of April it was my 19th birthday. The day before I had a meal with my friends at Las Iguanas and went out down town with my boyfriend. Then on Sunday I went for a meal with my family and boyfriend (at the same place!) and we all hung out in the garden afterwards playing with my niece. For my birthday I mainly asked for money, however I did get a few presents!

  • Lush The Experimenter Bath Bomb- My friend Emily bought me this which I'm excited to use as I did have one before but it turned out to be a faulty one!

  • Kiko Milano Water Eyeshadow 229- Another one from Emily. She just knows me too well! This is a beautiful high-shine, glittery silver which can be used dry or wet. Will definitely have to review this.

  • Paddle Hairbrush- I forgot to note down the brand of this paddle brush before I took it out of the packaging but I asked for a paddle hairbrush as mine has gone manky! This is from my Mum and I find them best for keeping my hair straight.

  • Diesel Loverdose- My boyfriend bought me this. I hadn't asked for it but damn that boy knows me. He knows I like perfumes that look alternative like this and it's beautiful. I can't wait to try it!

  • Essential Amethyst Tear Drop Necklace- My boyfriend also got me this necklace and I love it. It's a beautiful tear drop amethyst which are purple and has a kind of vine-type swirl going over it.
  • Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare- My fellow book lover Ruby got me this one! I didn't know Cassandra Clare had brought out another book but now I am pleasantly surprised. It is a big book which I love and the cover is quite artistic. I'm a fan of Cassandra Clare's books so I'm sure I will enjoy this.

  • Denman Large Paddle Brush- My sister Kelly got me this. I don't think Mum and Kelly knew they were both getting me one! Not a problem though, as it means I have a spare brush when the first one goes a bit yucky.

  • Schwarzkopf XXL Live 'Ultra Violet' Hair Dye- My sister Lisa bought me these because this is the hair dye I have been using for years. I'm trying to save money at the moment so this is helpful as it saves me buying my next batch of hair dye.

  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer- Lisa also got me this as again, she knows I use it religiously and it saves me from having to buy my next concealer. Very helpful!

  • Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub and Buttercream- Kelly bought me these and I love Soap & Glory so I was grateful. Every birthday and Christmas I'm always on the look out for body scrubs, creams and gels to save me from having to buy them through the year. The sugar crush smell is incredible too!
  • National Book Tokens Gift Card- I received this from my Mum's ex-boyfriend. Even though he is her ex he was in our lives long enough to still keep in contact with my siblings and I. Anyway, he thought I could use this to buy some books or to help with anything I need for University.

  • Disney Cheshire Cat Cushion- My friend Antonia bought me this. I have an undying love for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I love the films, the books, the video games, merch..the list goes on. I even want a Cheshire Cat tattoo. But anyway, she bought me this cushion and I love it. It goes well on my bed with my Pikachu!

  • Cheshire Cat T-Shirt- Another gift from Antonia, a t-shirt with the Cheshire Cat on. I will never get over the artwork.
  • Osprey Sirrus 26 Purple Backpack- My sister Kimberley and brother Jamie bought me this for when I plan to go interrailing around Europe with Antonia. I'm super thankful for this as I hadn't thought much about how I was going to carry everything and it seems super versatile. Nice colour too!
Birthday cake from my Mum

I'm very thankful to everyone for what they got me and I had a nice birthday. 19 seems like a weird age to me as 18 is big, 20 is out of the teen years but 19 is just a random age in between. Do not feel like I'm going to be 20 next year! To see what I got for my 18th birthday you can click here.

MAC | Ruby Woo

Behold- my first ever Mac Cosmetics product! For my birthday my friends kindly bought me this Mac 'Ruby Woo' lipstick and I instantly fell in love. I have been wanting a Mac lipstick for a long while but I never felt like I owned enough money myself to justify spending £15.50 on a lipstick. But I finally have one!

The packaging is so sleek and beautiful. As everyone knows about Mac lipsticks it comes in a stunning little black bullet with silver on the part that you use to twist up the lipstick. It is gorgeous, easily recognisable and gives that 'high end' feeling.

As for the colour, it is incredible as you can see below:

It is a classic red that really is the perfect matte colour. It's for those days when you want that classic, bold red lip that make a statement pin up girl style. I adore this colour!

And this is what it looks like at night-time:
So what about the formula? Well, it glides smoothly on your lips and gives you a strongly pigmented statement. With the help of a lip brush or a lip liner you can achieve the perfect lines that make your lips stand out from the crowd. I wore this lipstick when I went out for a meal on my birthday and the colour stayed on well no matter what I ate or drank. It is one of those lipsticks that will stay on all through the day and would probably only need topping up once.

I have read reviews that have said that this lipstick is quite drying but I disagree. It is a matte lipstick so it obviously isn't the most moisturising of lipsticks but I don't find that it dries out my lips or clings to any dry bits on my lips.

Overall I am really smitten with this lipstick and it is my ultimate favourite right now. I love having any excuse to wear it!

Have you got Ruby Woo? What do you think? And what was your first Mac product? Let me know!

What I Did for My Birthday!

Hey guys!

In my last birthday post (click here if you haven't already read it!) I shared with you all what I got for my birthday. Today I thought I would share, for anyone who is interested, what I got up to.

My birthday celebrations lasted over the course of 3 days.

On Thursday (the day before my birthday), I celebrated with friends. We went to see the film Insurgent because most of us have the read the books and love them- and because we saw Divergent on my birthday last year. The film was really good, although it was slightly different to the book. We then went for a birthday meal to Bella Italia and had nice food and great conversation. You can check out my friend Emily's blog here!

My birthday! First of all I went for a huge birthday meal to Frankie's and Benny's with my very large family and boyfriend. It was a day full of fun, kindness and lots of presents! To humiliate me my family made me wear a birthday sash and have '18th' badges and a '18' balloon attached to me. They then humiliated me further by getting the waiters to bring out a cake for me and play happy birthday music which they know I hate! They'd also thought they would try and be funny by giving me, the vegetarian, a cake with fake bacon on it. I also ordered my first (legal) drink which was a bit of a milestone for me. In the evening/night I then went out down town with my boyfriend and went to two of the rock/metal pubs and got quite drunk.

I didn't do anything in the day time but in the night time I went out down town with my sisters working our way through various bars. It was a lot of fun to have a night out with my sisters and we all got very drunk (haha). It is great having sisters which are also like your best friends. What was even more awesome is that one of my sisters bought me a whole new outfit for it (dress, bag and shoes) which you would have seen in my 'What I Got for My Birthday' post.

So that was it! I overall had an amazing 18th which my boyfriend, family and friends all helped to celebrate with me. I couldn't have asked for a better 18th birthday and I will never forget it.

What I Got for my Birthday

Hey guys!
Last week it was my 18th birthday and I had an absolute blast. I'd like to share with you what I got for my birthday. Please note this is not a post to boast about what I just thought you guys might be interested as I always am for other people's birthdays. I mean, you always get asked what you got for your birthday, right? Anyhow, let me begin...

I got two gift sets from The Body Shop. There is the Mango gift set which I got from my boyfriend which includes a body butter, body scrub and soap. I also got the Tea Tree gift set from my brother which I will go into more detail on in a later post as I will be posting about The Body Shop Tea Tree range! I also only got one book (surprisingly) from my sister which is called Invisible by James Patterson and David Ellis.

For make up, I got a few bits! Excitingly I got a voucher for Mac from my friend Robyn and my first ever Mac product which is Ruby Woo from my friends Cat and Vicky! They both also got me the two Zoeva eyeliners with are Good Karma and Mr Marvellous which are also my first products from Zoeva. My wonderful friend Emily (you can check her out here) got me the Urban Decay Basis eyeshadow palette which was exciting as I so wanted one! Finally I got my usual Collection Lasting Perfection powder from my friend Antonia.

On Saturday night I went out down town going to the bars with all my sisters (more on that soon) but I didn't have an outfit to wear! So my sister, Kimberley, was really generous and bought me an entire new outfit! All of the items are from New Look I believe. There are some great chunky heels (I tried walking in thin-heels and wedges and couldn't hack it) and a small handbag for holding my money, phone and ID. But the best bit is the beautiful dress! It would definitely be something I'd pick out for myself so my sister knows me well. I feel so confident in it and love it a lot!

Surprisingly I only got two nail polishes for my birthday as I usually get lots for birthdays/Christmases. They are from different sisters. My Dad also got me the film The Culling (which was technically for Easter), an 18th glass and 18th keyring.

One of my sisters also got me this black top with lace on the sleeves from H&M which I accidentally left to get creased! She also got me a plain black crop top but I forgot to take a photo of it. Additionally my friend Antonia got me a  Paco Rabanne Black XS perfume set which smells great and I will review it soon.

Anyone who knows me knows I love clothing and pretty much anything else with skulls on so my sister got me a big Skull glass which is mainly for alcohol but I think I am going to use it in my room for storing some sort of make up. Haven't decided what yet though! What do you think?

And lastly my boyfriend turned up on my doorstep with these beautiful flowers which is pretty sweet.
Overall I mainly got money for my birthday. I am not in a job at the moment so it was all I wanted really. Furthermore I also got some euros for my girls holiday at the end of the year and alcohol.

So there you have it! There will be a post up soon as well to tell you what I got up to. Thanks for reading!

What Can You Do At 18?

Hey guys!

Tomorrow is my birthday and I will be turning the big 18! So as a bit of a fun post I thought I would make this: What can do you at 18 in the UK?

  1. Buy and drink alcohol. Legally, at least.
  2. Buy a house/flat/land with my imaginary money. What kind of an 18 year old can afford that?
  3. Apply for a mortgage. Again, what kind of an 18 year old can afford that?
  4. Buy/see 18 rated films. Legally, at least.
  5. Get married without parents permission. Better go choose my wedding dress!
  6. Donate my body to science. Can I just donate my imaginary money instead?
  7. Vote in political elections. Good timing for the upcoming elections!
  8. Become an MP. Yep, I definitely think I am going to become an MP in the upcoming months. Next stop, Prime Minister!
  9. Get my nipples pierced. Although this is 16 years old for males which is pretty sexist.
  10. Get a tattoo. My mother would be proud (not)
  11. Make a will. Celebrating my birth whilst planning my death. Ironic really.
  12. Get a pilot's license. I wouldn't even trust me to fly myself on a plane!

Thanks for reading! There will a few posts coming up soon about what I got up to on my birthday and what I got, maybe even outfits too, so keep an eye out for those!

Also, credit to my friend Emily for the photo! The photo for this post was originally just a boring picture that said '18+' on it but it seems Emily had a similar idea by writing everything I could at 18 in my birthday card! So I thought it would better to use that as a photo.

Lush 'Hello Gorgeous' Gift Unboxing!

Hello!

I couple of months back it was my birthday and one of the presents I received was the 'Hello Gorgeous' gift box from Lush; given to me by one of my sisters. The gift box contains various products and costs £21.95 which is a fair price. Here are photos from when I unboxed it:

The first product that I pulled out was a little sample tin of the facial moisturiser 'Gorgeous':

I next pulled out the beautiful bubble bar 'The Comforter' which I was most excited about!:

Then I pulled out the shower 'Rub Rub Rub' which I was also pleased about:

Afterwards, I found the Vanilla Dee-Lite Body Lotion:

And finally, the 'Think Pink' bath bomb:

Have you ever used any of these products or received a similar gift box like this from Lush? What do you think? Let me know! Reviews will follow on all these products.

Birthday Activities + Divergent (film) Review!

Hello BumbleBeas!

My birthday was on Thursday but I didn't do anything until Friday and Saturday.

  • FRIDAY:
I went for a meal to Bella Italia with my friends Emily (www.emilyfrancesx.blogspot.co.uk), Ruby (www.dearrubyx.blogspot.co.uk), Robyn and Antonia. It was a lot of fun and I ate tomato pasta with cookie dough and ice cream for dessert!

Afterwards, we went to see the film Divergent! We are all pretty die-hard fans of the books so for months we had been waiting for that day! We saw it the first day it came out in the UK and I'm pretty sure we nearly hyperventilated in the cinema. It was super good and we are planning to see it again soon. It sticks to the book quite well and definitely lived up to the standards I set up for it! I seriously recommend it whether you have read the books or not.
(Three of us dressed up as Dauntless from Divergent!)
(galaxy tights!)

  • SATURDAY

I went to Bella Italia AGAIN (you can tell I like it, right?) with my family, There were 10 of us so it was a pretty big do! It was lots of fun and my sister Kimberley surprised me by baking me a cake (shown above) which the waiters/waitresses carried in with lit candles on with everyone singing happy birthday! The cake was extra special as it is a recipe me and my sister used to make together ALL the time for every occasion until she moved out and had my niece. Slightly embarrassing. The funny part was that one of the candles was a trick candle that after you blow it out lights itself back up again!
(outfit!)

I had a great birthday and I really appreciate all the things my family and friends did for me to make it special. I love you all!

Have you seen Divergent or are you planning to? What do you think of it or the books? Let me know!

Birthday Presents!

Hey BumbleBeas!

So on the 3rd of April I turned 17! I decided I would make a blog post about what I received from friends and family as if it were a haul. I am still yet to receive presents from my boyfriend, brother and uncle but this is the majority of it. Also, sorry the photos are pretty rubbish quality but I took them late at night as I knew that would be the only change I could get to take the photos.

But the most important and rather unique present was that I found out I am going to be AN AUNTIE AGAIN! My sister rang me up and said "do you wanna know something interesting?" as I replied what she said "I'm pregnant!". I thought she was joking at first as if it were a late April Fools joke but alas she was being serious. At that point I cried! Certainly a birthday present I never thought I'd receive.

DVDs: Chicago (musical), Catching Fire and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. I love these films and got them from my Nan.

Scandalous Eyes Flex mascara (from my friend), Revlon Matte Lip Crayon (Cannot remember the colour but it is a bright red from my mother) and L'oreal Manga Mega Volume mascara (Also from my mother).

Babyliss Keratin Waves received from my sister Kelly. I don't ever put curls or waves in my hair so this should be interesting!

Dairy Milk Oreo (the best thing in existence!) from my friend Toni along with the Lush bath bomb Sakura (I think that's how it is spelt!)

The first three, the 60 seconds ones, are pastel colours from Toni. The Colour Show graffiti one is from my friend Vicky and the Models Own ones from my mother. They include hypergel, speckled eggs, a top coat and sticky fingers. Posts on them will come soon!

Shock of the Fall and The Never List are from Emily and Ruby. However I've already read Shock of the Fall so they're going to let me return it and choose a new one. I also got Wreck This Journal which I am planning to turn in to a series on this blog soon from my friend Robyn!

This is the 'Gorgeous' gift box by Lush from my sister Lisa. An unboxing and first look post will be on its way soon!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner and No7 Colour Calming Skin Corrector from my mother and Happy Hippy shower gel by Lush from my friends Emily and Ruby. (www.emilyfrancesx.blogspot.co.uk and www.dearrubyx.blogspot.co.uk) Reviews coming soon!

When taking these photos I forgot the clothes I received from my sister Kimberley, her boyfriend and my niece. They bought me a white top with black bows all over and a pair of black high waisted trousers with 3 buttons on them. Super nice! I mostly got money for my birthday to spend on what I'd like.

So those were my birthday presents! I will make a second post showing what I did for my birthday if that interests anyone which should hopefully be up tomorrow.
Do you use any of these products? Let me know!
