February | My Playlist #3

  • Eskimo Kiss by The Kooks- This is a song that my boyfriend introduced me to in the beginning of our relationship that I have liked ever since. I have been listening to it a lot recently because it is actually on the CD my work use in their store! It is a cutesy song and is one you will pick up the lyrics off.

  • Love Is An Open Door from Frozen- This is a totally random one, but my 2 year old niece loves songs from Frozen and she likes this one because it is one of my favourites. Every time I see her I put this song on so we can have a dance and a sing song to it. It's so adorable her pointing at me singing "with you!"

  • Me and Mrs You by Michael Buble- This song is on an album I got for Christmas and I love singing along to it. I love a bit of Buble and his swingin' style.

  • Sunday Morning by Maroon 5- Another song my boyfriend introduced to me in the beginning of our relationship. It is another sing-a-long for me and it is definitely the song that I listen to on a Sunday! The only annoying thing is that in the music video it takes about 23 seconds to start the song because they have a part at the start where people are singing karaoke of the song and it makes me cringe.

  • Nicotine and Alcohol Saved My Life by Deaf Havana- When I was about 13/14, this was my absolute favourite song and I listened to it on repeat. I've recently started listening to it again and somehow I still remember all the words. Wikipedia describe Deaf Havana as an 'alternative rock' band and it won't be to everyone's taste if you don't like screaming vocals.

So that's what I've been listening to lately. What about you? You can see what was on my playlist last time here.

My Playlist #2

Hello!

Once again I am back with another playlist for you guys. My music taste is rather mixed so I think it is quite interesting to record and look back on! To see my first playlist, click here.

1. Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody- An absolute classic! I'm not sure but lately I have somehow re-developed my love for this legend of a song and I just can't get it out of my head. Fantastic lyrics and fantastic everything.

2. Taylor Swift: Bad Blood- This one isn't an easy one for me to admit that I like. I used to be a huuuge Taylor Swift fan when I was about 12 and had her albums. I like this song mainly for its badass music video with bad ass women in it- my favourites being Hayley Williams and Cara Delevingne.

3. Frank Sinatra: New York, New York- Yes, Sinatra is featuring again! I absolutely love him and his version of New York, New York is constantly going round my head every day and I sing it so much it annoys people. It is a fantastic song and he sings it beautifully.

4. Chicago Musical: All That Jazz- Chicago is one of my favourite musicals, maybe even my number one favourite. All That Jazz is a powerful song that I like to pretend I have the capabilities of singing when in fact I cannot hit any of the notes. It is a strong, sexy song and I secretly want to be Velma Kelly.

5. Nirvana: Heart Shaped Box- One of the most well-known songs by Nirvana. This song gives me the chills and it is one of those songs I listen to when I am in a chilled out and relaxed mood. Give it a listen!

So there we have it. What are you listening to this summer? Let me know!

My Playlist #1

Hello!

I have never done one of these Playlists before but I have seen others do it and thought it is a nice idea to see what other people are listening to. Music tastes can be so diverse, including my own, so I thought I would share what I am listening to at the moment too!

1. Frank Sinatra- My Funny Valentine. I absolutely adore this song and adore anything by Frank Sinatra. It is such a nice and relaxing song to listen to!

2. The Darkness- Barbarian. The Darkness were apart of my childhood and I have loved the band ever since. This is one of their newer songs which is great when you want to have a sing-a-long and dance like a rockstar. Or is that just me?

3. Elvis Presley- Hard Headed Woman. Both of my parents brought me up on Elvis Presley and his Greatest Hits album is the album I love listening to when I am getting ready, cleaning my room etc..You get the picture. Another song you want to have a sing-a-long to and have a dance to in your bedroom.

4. Metallica- Nothing Else Matters. This song is always on my Playlist as, without sounding cheesy, it's my boyfriend and I's song. My boyfriend plays the guitar and this was the first song I had ever heard him play and I admired it so much that I've loved it ever since.

5. Sia- Elastic Heart. I like Sia's music ever since I watched 'Chandelier' along with the amazing dancing that comes with it. I really like Elastic Heart and I also adore the story being told through dance in the music video by no other than the 'Chandelier' girl (Maddie) herself AND the handsome Shia LaBeouf.

There's my playlist for the month! I have such a diverse taste in music. I was brought up on musicals, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra through my parents and my love of dance but I am also a rock and metal girl. Even then you'll still find me singing along to the likes of Taylor Swift!

Feel free to give any of those songs a listen and tell me what you think. It would be really cool to introduce some of you to new music!
