The Body Shop Event | Pinita Colada

Hello all!

You may remember that a couple of months ago I went to an event at The Body Shop @ Cribbs Causeway which was their first event!

Well, last week they held another event to celebrate their new Pinita Colada range; a summer range with a Pina Colada scent.

On arrival we were greeted with pretty little pin trays with popcorn and a cookie on, as well as a drink. The drink was Pina Colada juice and even the popcorn was Pina Colada flavoured! It sounds wrong but it is surprisingly nice.

Next I had a hand massage with the Pinita Colada collection under their taps. I had my hand exfoliated and moisturised which made my hand smell lovely and my skin looked brighter. Not to mention relaxed! I particularly liked the Pinita Colada Body Sorbet as it feels much lighter and absorbs faster than a body butter yet still moisturises all the same. This is probably my favourite part of their events.

Afterwards I went ahead and had my make up consultation. I wanted to know more about their blushers so the make up expert pulled out a few of their blushers and applied a neutral matte one on my face. She then showed me their new Instaglow CC Creams and tried the Peach Glow one on the back of my hand which gives your skin a glow and deals with redness. The packaging is rather nice and as someone who loves colour correcting I think they're a great idea. They also have SPF which is a bonus! In addition there are new Shade Adjusting Drops to adjust your foundation if it's not the exact colour of your skin which I think is a fabulous idea.

Lastly I had a skincare consultation with a skincare expert. Last time I had a consultation they recommend the Aloe Soothing Night Cream to me which I bought and loved so I really wanted to take her advice again as my skin has changed recently. I explained to her that because of new medication my skin was now rather dry but still acne-prone so she recommend me some of the same products as before and some new ones. I also asked her about SPF moisturisers for going abroad with as I have been looking for the perfect one!

I enjoyed the event as much as the first one and as before the staff were lovely. They also kindly gave us goody bags and I was excited to see the new Instaglow Peach Glow CC Cream in it so I will definitely be writing about that at some point!

The Body Shop Event @ The Mall Cribbs Causeway

Hello!

For years I have loved The Body Shop, particularly their tea tree range, so when I heard that the shop at The Mall Cribbs Causeway were holding their first blogger event I was excited.

Upon arrival I was given a drink and some heart shaped chocolates (which were delicious!) whilst being introduced to the team. The first activity I did was have a hand massage with some lovely new products from the British Rose range which were released for Mothers Day. The store just had sinks put in so the lady run my hand under warm water and massaged a scrub, an instant glow body essence and body butter into my hand whilst telling me some facts about the range. She then finished off by spritzing some of the eau de toilette on to my wrist. The massage was relaxing and my hand felt like jelly afterwards!

The next thing I did was have a make up consultation with another member of staff. She asked me what I was interested in which I replied were the eyeshadows. We picked out some eyeshadows and she used them on me to make a neutral smokey eye. It felt quite therapeutic having my make up one which I've only had done once before and I really liked the results! We also had a look at the purple and brown lipsticks and she wrote down for me all the products that we looked at.

The last step was a skincare consultation. I sat down with and a different lady and she asked me a few questions to determine my skin type and what I wanted to achieve with my skin. I described my skin as blemished to normal with slightly dry patches around my eyes. I also said that I want to achieve an unblemished, even skin tone which is youthful. She then tried some products on my hand which were tailored to my specific skin needs, explained the uses and benefits for them and wrote me up a day and night skincare routine. The products I liked trying the most were the Aloe night cream, the Drops of Youth serum and the Camomile butter. I'm definitely going to have to make some purchases soon!

The overall experience was very nice and the ladies who worked there were absolutely lovely. They were extremely helpful and were really interested in blogging. They even gave us a little goodie bag which I was grateful for as there were some samples in there that I wanted to try. I do hope they hold another event soon!

Thanks The Body Shop team at The Mall Cribbs Causeway!

BareMinerals | Marvelous Moxie 'Break Away' Lipstick

Hey!

As I have mentioned plenty of times before on my blog, I went to a bareMinerals blogger meet up (click here) a while back, and one part of the goodie bag was a sample of the Marvelous Moxie lipstick called 'Break Away'.

Break Away is a satin brown-toned nude lipstick. I was super excited about receiving this as although I am usually a 'bold lip or go home' type of girl I thought a nude might be good for the days where a bold lip just wouldn't go with bold eyes or if I simply cannot be bothered with the maintenance of a bold lip.

So what do I think of it? Well, I think it is simply amazing. I love using it because it gives my lips something when a bold lip isn't appropriate- It's kind of similar to the 'my lips but better' style. I love how I don't even need to use a lip brush with it and I can just apply it straight away whilst still getting clean lines. I particularly like to use this when I am out on a night out and know I will be, well lets just say, too tipsy to care about touching up my lipstick.

You can drink or eat as much as you like with this lipstick and it won't really budge. And when it does eventually fade slightly, it still leaves an even stain of the colour on your lips. I find I only need to touch up this lipstick either not at all or once if I've been drinking/eating and not at all if I am not eating/drinking!

It glides on smoothly and with ease on to my lips and is really easy to use. It isn't drying and I've honestly been wearing this lipstick to death! I will be so disappointed when I finish it.

I overall love this lipstick and I really recommend it for the perfect nude lip and for times where you'll be, like I said, getting too tipsy to care about touching up lipstick. Here is a photo of me with it on when it was my birthday:

You can buy a full sized Marvelous Moxie lipstick from bareMinerals for £17 pounds.

What do you think?

BareMinerals Blogger Event

Hey!

Last Thursday I went to a Bloggers skincare and foundation event for BareMinerals in House of Fraser, Bristol with my good friend Emily. It was run by the lovely Ashton where I also met Mali. BareMinerals are a unique skincare and make up brand which have minerals for ingredients as you can guess!

This was the first event Emily and I had gone to so we didn't know what to expect but we were made welcome with friendly faces, amazing hot chocolates and rainbow cookies!

First we took our make up off which I found absolutely nerve-racking as I NEVER go outside without make up on but I felt calmer about it knowing everyone else was taking their make up off too and we would be putting on foundation afterwards. We used plenty of skincare products which all felt smooth and luxurious. We used the Facial Cleansing Oil, Eye Nourishing Balm, Active Cell Renewal Night Serum, Purely Nourishing Moisturiser and the Blemish Remedy. I think the favourite one I used was the night serum because it was nice to try as a serum as I don't usually use them in my own personal skincare.

Additionally, we tried out the Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser on our hands which I really liked as it was unique due to the fact that it is in powder form!

Next was my favourite bit: make up! We used the Prime Time primer first to prepare our skin and I chose the one that cancels out redness because I have a lot of that. I really liked the feeling of it compared to other primers as it uses silicona (is that how it's spelt? I don't know think it is) rather than silicone like most other primers.

We then used the bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation with the Perfecting Face Brush for foundation. The brush is interesting as it feels exactly like velvet and has a dip in the middle to put the foundation drop in. The foundation was lightweight and light coverage but definitely buildable. Lastly I used bronzer and I was given great tips on how to apply bronzer seeing as I don't really use it myself!

To finish off, we did a quiz to test the knowledge we were taught and there was a prize at the end. I didn't win but it was fun all the same! We were then given goody bags full of samples of mascara, lipstick, perfumes and primer. There were sweets too! Then it was time to say goodbye.

I had a great time at the event and it has given me confidence if I were to attend anymore. I always knew of BareMinerals but never really thought about them so now I have lots of knowledge about what they do and their ingredients!

Reviews on the products I received in my goody bag will be up in the upcoming week or so. :-)
